Transformer windings or Coils are made from High Quality Electrolytic Grade Copper conductors sourced from reputed manufacturers.

The windings are concentric circular or elliptical in shape based on the Design. Various types of design constructions namely layer, spiral, helical disc., etc are adopted.

High voltage windings of Distribution transfromers are wound generally with PVA covered round wires or papr covered rectangular strips.

The Inter Layer / Inter Coil Insulations provided take care of the electrical and mechanical stresses. Adequate ducting with pre-compressed pressboard is provided to limit temperature rise with in designed limits.

Low voltage windings with high currents are designed with copper foils with a special diamond dotted paper insulation between layers. Foil windings are best preferred to reduce the axial forces under fault condition to the bare minimum, resulting in better short circuit withstandability, excellent reliability and longer life expectancy.
